There's no denying the ethereal feel of this spring-inspired shoot at The Danforth located in the West End of Portland, Maine. A very talented team of local wedding vendors came together to make this vision come to life all enhanced by beautiful photography and exceptional collaboration.
Originally inspired by the lounge room's botanical wallpaper ceiling, the setting evokes a magical, light and airy feel. The old world architecture of the inn assists in creating a romantic ambiance with sun filtering in through the windows and the installation of ruscus climbing up the wall against the stark white scape of the room. The cake was inspired by this wallpaper and compliments the ceiling with a unique floral wrapping on the bottom tier. We wanted to achieve a garden botanic vibe with a certain crispness and neutrality obtained through the white and glass table settings. Yet the tablescape hosts dusty blue tones to compliment the velvet settee, along with pops of lavender to stir the feeling of spring with handmade marbled eggs. The art-deco centerpiece breaks up the traditional feel to give some funky freshness. The classic style of the bridal attire, chic hair and makeup, plus simple and sweet jewelry blends beautifully with the greenery and floral installations in the dining room, not one element is upstaging the other. The final touch being the wedding invitation suite with its calligraphy and floral line work being the perfect introduction to the styling of this shoot. We wanted a classic undertone with a modern and feminine flare inspired by springy botanical goodness making our models feel like garden nymphs!
This spring has been short lived so I hope these photos sprinkle a little life back into your day!
